What To Watch In May

May 10, 2023

Oddly, May’s calendar is filling up with release dates for some of the best shows around. With the weather getting nicer in so many areas of the country, it is interesting to see so many new seasons of our favorite shows dropping at this point in time. But who am I to question these gorgeous gifts? From Selling Sunset to Queer Eye to The Great, here’s What To Watch this month:

Queen Charlotte – May 4th – Netflix

Bridgerton fans! I have been able to sneak in the first 2 episodes so far and it is top notch. This is on par with the first two season of Bridgerton but steps away from the family and explores the life of the force that is Queen Charlotte. We get to see how her life takes shape from age 17 on including falling love, having children, and how all of it adds up to where she is in the first two seasons of the original series.

RHOA – May 7th – Bravo

While I have not kept up with Atlanta, this is one of the most popular of the Housewives franchises and is always delivering the drama.

Queer Eye Season 7 – May 12th – Netflix

The boys are back in town! This time it’s New Orleans! I’m ready for some feel good moments and this series never fails in that department.

The Great Season 3 – May 12th – Hulu

If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon with this one, do! It’s Bridgerton in Russia with a little more reality. We follow Catherine the Great from the season one when she marries the Russian ruler to overthrowing her own husband to become Empress of Russia. It’s a little darker than Bridgerton (we see far more bloodshed due to war and straight up murder as Russia undergoes a massive change), but balances with comedy sprinkled throughout.

Vanderpump Rules Season 10 Finale – May 17th – Bravo

I CANNOT WAIT. Scandoval has saved this franchise for sure and I’m here for it.

XO, Kitty Season Premiere – May 18th – Netflix

This is perhaps my wildcard. Thanks to my younger sister, I watched the To All The Boys I’ve Loved movies and absolutely loved them. They’re an easy watch and the family is the sweetest. Seeing the youngest sister now have a spinoff series that follows her lovestory is going to be funny for sure as she had a sarcastic wit that made the movies great.

Selling Sunset Season 6 – May 19th – Netflix

Need I say more? Chrishell dishing on her new romance, a new agent in the office, and Mary becoming even more of a boss babe for the agency? I was already signed up for this before it was even announced.

Windy City Rehab Season 4 – May 23rd – HGTV

I love a good HGTV series and Alison Victoria is one of the chicest of their designers on roster. I’m hopeful this season sees her fully out of lawsuit and defense mode against her prior business partner and back into her incredible designs.

The Kardashians Season 3 – May 25th – Hulu

While I had stopped watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians a few seasons before it came to an end, I did pick up with their new Hulu offering when it dropped its first season. I have been pleasantly surprised by it. I like the new asthetic and overall vibe of the show as well as the content. Easy watching when there is nothing else on.

And mark your calendars for June! Our favorite Housewives are coming back with more drama. Orange County returns June 7th and RHONY’s much-aniticpated premier (do we call the re-vamp a premiere??) will drop July 16th. Plus, season 2 of Sex and the City’s sequel series And Just Like That comes back with Aidan! I’m trying to catch up on season one to be ready for that one. Aidan being the draw to get me back obviously. Have to see where that goes!
