THE style icon: Audrey Hepburn. With as much time as we are all spending at home, it can be tough to stay stylish when we are often staying in PJs all day. Trust me, I get it: some days you just don’t feel like you have the emotional or physical energy to put on pants. Been there! (There today!) Getting dressed and channeling a little of Hepburn’s style gives the day the ‘umph’ it needs to push on.
Sweater weather is upon us and Audrey is our inspiration. A striped sweater or cotton long sleeve is the perfect way to channel Audrey’s casual style. Whether you pair it with black leggings or knit pants or denim, the striped top is a classic that you should have in your wardrobe. It reads late summer/early fall at the lake in a way that works even when you aren’t there. Audrey was a dancer who chose relaxed pieces that allowed her the movement her body sought naturally. Today, we may not be after dancing so much as relaxing on the couch, but we can take inspiration from her need for comfort in her style.

The crew neck knit sweater is such an easy fall staple. Audrey’s styling it with high-waisted pants and a pair of her signature ballet flats is a look that still works today. All three of these pieces are easy to wear around the house but also fit into your wardrobe for a million other looks no matter what the occasion.

Some days you just don’t care to wear pants, and that is 100% OK. Breakfast At Tiffany’s saw Audrey’s Holly Golightly take ‘relaxed at home’ to the chicest of places with her menswear-inspired nightdress. The oversized tux shirt she slipped on to open the door and great her neighbor is one of the most iconic scenes in movie and fashion history. Best part? It’s so easy to recreate!
