KCFW Recap

September 22, 2019

I could not have been more impressed with the Spring/Summer 2020 collections shown this week in Kansas City! The level of talent displaced is so inspiring! Last night’s final show including some truly incredible designers including Lucia’s Sarto, Georgina Herrera, and (my new favorite) Any Old Iron. Check out all of Saturday’s designers below:

Dillard’s x Oak Park Mall

The collection of looks showed more fall-inspired hues in the form of leather and biker jackets, plaid print pants, pleated skirts, and blazers. All are available now at Dillard’s.

TRBROWN by Tiffany Brown

Tiffany’s message: Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Between her glittering cardigan and ’70’s-inspired wrap dress, I could definitely find a number of items from her collection that I would feel very comfortable in!

Joshua J Chris by Joshua Christensen

Joshua created looks that had a fun and unexpected twist. Where else could you find lights traveling down the side seams of pant or a gold lame (pronounced la-may) gown worn with a LED lit cat mask?

Georgina Herrera Jewelry

Georgina has been surrounded by jewelry her entire life and brings a level of unique elegance to her well-made creations. Her collection showed against all-white jumpsuits to best highlight the statement-making pieces.

J. Tierney Designs by Jennifer Tierney

Fun, colorful, and full of life, Jennifer’s collection showed with bright floral crowns to highlight the beautiful looks. Her runway show even came with a little sassy catwalk attitude from its youngest model!

Gabriela Arslanoglu

With a background in Istanbul, it was clear to see the international influence in Gabriela’s looks. Her pieces showed her ability to take rich fabrics and colors and mold them into a visually stunning piece of art.

Lucia’s Sarto by Nataliya Meyer

With a gift for crafting uniquely feminine looks for her clients, Lucia brought together a collection of outstanding custom luxury pieces for women of any size.

Any Old Iron by Andrew Clancey

This was the final collection from Saturday’s show and it truly exemplified how to go out with a BANG. Easily my new favorite, Any Old Iron was full of rocker chic pieces worn by models with attitude at every step. His creativity extended beyond a simple piece of clothing on a simple catwalk run turning the show into a choreographed event full of energy and attitude that was all his own.

Each of the designers mentioned are tagged in my KCFW Instagram post here so that you can easily follow them for more amazing designs!
