During our recent trip to Paris, I took an afternoon for myself and headed to the Gallerie Dior for a walk through the exhibit. To say this experience is ‘incredible’ is an understatement. Every corner I turned had me gasping with excitement and awe as I saw look after look of archival pieces from Dior collections. Spanning from the inception of the house through the most recent collections of Maria Grazia Chiuri, many of the looks are those I had only seen in photos.
The traveling ‘Designer of Dreams’ exhibit that I had previously viewed in Dallas in 2019 was a good runner-up to this display. The experience of being in the House of Dior in Paris and seeing the work of so many incredible artists who have led the collections through the years was just an experience unto its own. I highly recommend this to any fashion lover in Paris, even if only for a day or two.
I would recommend getting a ticket in advance for a designated time as it guarantees you entrance and often without waiting in line. I was able to walk right into the gallery with my pre-purchased ticket.
While I did not head into the Dior cafe, I did make a few purchases in the gallery’s gift shop. There were books I’d never seen that I grabbed to add to my already extensive fashion library along with bookmarks and postcards. I will definitely be going back to see this again in the future and will be partaking in the cafe when I do!
