One of the most popular It Girl bags is Dior’s Book Tote. But when there are thousands of dollars on the pricetag, some of us budget-conscious fashionistas are not paying up for one. While I love the look and LOVE Dior, Beckham’s diapers and food are the top of my shopping list. So when it comes to shopping designer looks, this is one that I’m doing without the designer price. I found two alternatives and tested them out so that you can shop the look, too!
I love the look of this option as it resembles the toile that Dior has used on past iterations of their Book Tote. It even calls out the fact that it is not a Dior bag in the slightest, which is awesome since there are so many lookalikes for varying designer items these days. This comes in a few different color/pattern options, too.
Con: The material on this is thinner. I would likely use it for grabbing something at the market or elsewhere if I’m not going to be putting anything too heavy inside. There isn’t much to give it any structure, so it isn’t really a great option for actual books.
Unlike the Amazon option above, this Steve Madden bag has more structure and is more of a bag in that sense. It is a medium-sized bag and would be a better option for carrying on a daily basis with your usual items, including a book if you wanted. It also comes in a few different color options (though the cream one I got is no longer available).
Con: This bag is a smidge smaller than I’d have liked. If comparing it to the Dior bags themselves, it would be the smaller tote and I’m more into a larger one personally.
