KCFW Spring/Summer ’23 Recap

April 3, 2023

Another amazing season of Kansas City Fashion Week in the books! I had the honor of sitting front row to the shows again this season and was blown away by the incredible talent on display.

You’ll find links to the designers’ Instagram or website by clicking on any of the photos or names bolded and underlined within this blog post. You can also check out the complete collections on Reels over on my Instagram.

Salacious Fruit

The absolute stand-out collection this season was from first-time KCFW designer, Salacious Fruit. Between the kimono-style gowns and the incredible headpieces, the entire collection was beautifully crafted and styled to perfection.

Gracie Key

A repeat designer at KCFW, Gracie Key has been a staple of the shows for the past few seasons. However, this season was a stand-out for the designer as the collection included show-stopping gowns, including the finale dress that took over the entire runway.

Laura Citron

Every season, I look forward to the finale night of shows for Nashville’s Laura Citron. Her collections are always fun, flirty, and full of color. There is pure joy in her looks and the runway feels alive the second they step out.

Sophie Abrey

Another designer new to KCFW this season is Sophie Abrey. The collection was full of beaded details that gave the appearance of blood dripping and hands on plates (think Addams family’s Thing). The entire collection’s vibe had a quirkiness that is reminiscent of Moschino under Jeremy Scott.

Vanya Designs

If you are a bride, this is the designer you need to know! Even if you have a special event, Vanya Designs would be my first stop if I were you. The gowns on the runway were well-made and timeless. Not to mention gorgeous!
