Couture Week Trends To Try

July 9, 2021

With Couture Week closing, I’m looking back through all of my favorite looks from the shows to find the trends I want to try out myself. While couture can be more aspirational than attainable for 99% of us, it is always something from which we can draw inspiration. My favorite show by far this season was Dior, but that came as no surprise as I tend to love the Dior collections, especially with Maria Grazia Chiuri at the helm. The nod to vintage lines and styles infused with modern touches is the perfect blend for me.

In fact, the very first trend stemmed from many of the looks in the Dior couture collection:

Longer Hemlines for the Win

Mini skirts were non-existent in the couture world this season. Hemlines were below the knees and some nearer to the ankle. The effect is a vintage-inspired charm that has a classic and sophisticated feel.

All About CoatsĀ

You can’t go wrong with a great cold in the colder months, but the couture collections were brimming with unique shapes, rich colors, and an all-around feel of luxurious walks in the park on a cool day.

Jump(suit) Around!

I recently came to love a good romper and with encouragement from the couture shows, I’m inching into trying out a jumpsuit. The effect of them is chic AF and seems about as simple as wearing a dress; just one piece of clothing and your look can basically be done! Top it off with your accessories and you are ready to go!

Tie It Up

Hair bows gave a feminine and sweet touch to the Chanel show. Braids, ponytails, tousled lock all tied up with a bow.

Which trend are you trying?
