Self-care is essential any time, but especially now. With so much uncertainty and stress in our lives, it is vital that we take the time to disconnect and recharge our batteries.
Last week, the company I work for in my 9-5 announced that we won’t be returning to the office in 2020. Since then, I have been taking time to think over what that means for my life and how the rest of the year will look for me. Up to that announcement, there was a part of me that felt like this was a temporary thing. Now it feels more permanent. If I look at this as ‘the norm’ and working from home is what I do permanently vs just for a short time, what does that mean for my work/life balance?
So one thing I have decided to make more of a priority is my self-care time. Until now, I have only sporadically taken the time to do a face mask for a few minutes or washed my face in the shower in the morning and called it good. Being intentional with self-care takes effort and I know that it is worth the time and energy because it will be paid back tenfold.
I’m rounding up my favorite self-care items to help get you inspired to join me on my self-care Sunday journey any day you want! If you have a long Tuesday and feel you need to take a step back, do it! Pour a glass of wine, get a spa setup ready in your bathroom and forget about the day you’ve had.
Here are the tools to help you do it:
Trust me, you need to give these a try! They are super affordable and make a major difference when you are doing a mask or just want to feel like you’re getting the full spa treatment with your hair off your face relaxing in a warm bath.
In case you need a mask to use with those Facial Headbands, this is one I love! The brand itself is my go-to and I may have the majority of their products in my bathroom at this very moment. Their products are all made from natural ingredients and leave your skin looking and feeling gorgeous.
I’ve mentioned these silicone mask brushes before but can’t recommend them enough! They make applying your mask so easy it is unbelievable!
If you love your time soaking in the tub, this is a must-have. It has spots for all your essentials and even converts into a standing desk if you want to use it for breakfast in bed or while working on the couch!
I am a candle addict! Years ago I was all about the 3-wick candles from Bath & Body (White Barn Candle Co), but once I discovered DW Home I could never go to another brand. The DW Home candles burn with the most amazing scents and last LONGER than the 3-wicks from Bath & Body! My absolute favorite scent from them any time is Birthday Cake, but this summer I found their Mandarin Agave and could not recommend it more as the perfect spring/summer scent for your home. They have tons of options both on Amazon and their own website for you to try. If you are able to get out to your nearby Home Goods, you will often find varying scents there at a discount too!
These are amazing to help with dark under eyes and puffiness. I tend to be more puffy in the morning, but I’m a big fan of using these to help me de-stress and de-puff after a long day, too. Not to mention, they have nearly a 5-star review on Amazon!
No matter what day or time you pick to do you self-care, make sure you do it! You’re physical and mental health are so vital to making sure you can show up each day and be your best self, so make sure you are taking the time to take care of you!
