Self-Care Sunday

April 12, 2020

Self-care is one of the most important things you can do to make sure you are ready to be your best self around others. Sundays are a great day to spend some time getting yourself reset for the new week about to start. For me, it helps to get me calm and feeling ready to tackle the week ahead vs dreading Monday morning.

So what does a Self-Care Sunday look like? Well, that depends entirely on you! Whether you have a few hours or just a few minutes, what are the things that you love to do to refresh your mind and body?

Here are a few of the things that I love to do for my own self-care to get you thinking about what might work for you. Remember: you don’t have to wait until Sunday! If you need a little self-care after a long day to wind down and relax, do it!! Take that time for yourself when you need it. Listen to your body and to your emotions and recognize when you just need a minute for you.

A little spa time is the #1 way I self-care. It tackles both my mental and physical well-being; run a bath (if that’s your thing), do a face and a hair mask, and listen to your favorite songs.

If you’re a big fan of taking long baths, you need a bath tray for your goodies while you soak. It doesn’t hurt if it’s made of bamboo like this one as it’s a biodegradable material.

Derma-E Detox

I love using clean beauty products from brands like Derma-E and Acure. Their masks and everyday products leave my skin looking and feeling amazing. My daily skincare routine is centered around using Acure’s Brightening Cleansing Gel to clean my skin of dirt and grime in the morning and before bed, their Brightening Day Cream, and then their Brightening Night Cream and Seriously Soothing Cloud Cream before bed.

If you haven’t tried this hair mask, you are missing out! Or your hair is! I use a heated tool on my hair every single day and that can leave me with split or damaged hair. I have never found a product like this one that helps to repair my damage and prevent it from happening. I try to take the time to do it at least once a week.

My FAVE! I have darker under eyes and these help my eyes feel less puffy and dark.

Ultra Soft Blanket.png

There is nothing I love more than curling up on the couch with a soft, cozy blanket to enjoy reading a book or watching my favorite movie to relax. This blanket is a super soft faux fur that is perfect for snuggling. I’m sitting here with one on me while I write! (Available in 4 colors)

No matter how you choose to self-care, do something that allows you to relax and unwind from your day or week and hit your reset button.
