The last few months have been…a lot. If you have followed me on Instagram, you may have seen my updates about about the insane number of tests I’ve done to finally have a diagnosis for the intense facial pain and headaches I deal with. Turns out I have migraines that magically mimic sinus infection (because that’s apparently a thing). To help treat them more naturally, I have been focusing on making healthier choices in what I’m eating and drinking as well as getting more active. Oh, and since stress is a trigger for migraines, that’s another one to reign in…we’ll see how that goes!
This week was another one that hurt. I was not able to be the active or energetic person I normally am. However, when I was down for the count, I realized just how much a little moment can matter. One of my coworkers left me a note on my desk (hidden under my mouse) that read “you are a ray of sunshine!”. When I was able to get back into work and see that it meant so much to have that encouraging reminder of my ‘normal’.
With this being the week of Thanksgiving, there is no better time to find a moment to make a positive difference in someone’s day. A smile, a few kind words, buying an extra muffin and sharing it with a friend or coworker; it’s often the littlest things that can make the biggest difference for someone else. Even if you don’t have someone in particular in mind, that’s ok! Find a stranger and make their day!
