Let’s go ahead and get one thing straight: YOU ARE PERFECT! At any given time, you are YOU and you are perfect just the way you are. Whether you feel strong, weak, broken, energized, or anything in between you are your version of “perfect” at any given time.
With that said, when it comes to your weight or any other body “imperfections” you may have, you are exactly they way you should be at this very moment and there is no reason not to dress for now!
I was recently talking to a woman about the bridesmaid dresses she had purchased for two upcoming weddings. She told me that she was doing a diet for the weddings to get her body “ready” and had purchased the dresses a size smaller than what she may really need to stick to it. While that sounds like a motivational tool of sorts, it broke my heart to hear her feeling like she isn’t gorgeous in her body now. Buying a dress that may be snug or too tight because you’re “ideal version” of yourself is ten pounds lighter isn’t the answer. Buy the dress that fits and feel confident that you look amazing! I can guarantee that the girl who shows up in something a size too small is more worried about her “problem areas” being showcased by how tight her dress is.
The other thing with all of this is that not every size fits all. Maybe you are in between a medium and a large size. Don’t grab the medium and then only drink fluids for the next two weeks in an attempt to be Angelina Jolie at an event. Buy the large and have it fitted by a professional so that it is size YOU.
There is no reason to go through life wishing you acted or looked like anyone else. Know that the people who see your genuine self when you choose to show it will respond in kind. If they don’t like it, that’s on them. They weren’t meant to be in your life if they don’t love the true you.
